Eggi Sudjana: Harapan Mulya Cooperative Wins Land Dispute Case
The Harapan Mulya Cooperative, which represents farmers in Rokan Hulu, Riau, has finally won the dispute in case No. 332/Pdt.Sus-LH/2025 at the Pasir Pangaraian District Court on Monday, 2 March 2026. According to Prof. Eggi Sudjana, the legal counsel for the Harapan Mulya Cooperative, the opposing party’s lawsuit was withdrawn because the cooperative’s legal team successfully uncovered the identity of the plaintiff who lacked legal standing. “The cooperative’s land rights are actually strengthened by the Supreme Court decision No. 2977 K/Pdt/2020, which has been inkracht. Legally, there is no longer any debate regarding the rightful owner of that land,” explained Eggi Sudjana at his office in the Bogor area on Monday, 27 April 2026. Eggi further added that the Harapan Mulya Cooperative’s land has been officially registered in the sustainability scheme through the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. SK. 1077/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/10/2022. The state, in this case the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, has already acknowledged the cooperative’s presence on that land. Allegations that the cooperative is illegally controlling the forest are a fatal administrative error, considering that the permit is currently in process in accordance with the procedures of the Job Creation Law.
