Efficiency Measures: DPR Staff Urged to Commute Using Public Transport
JAKARTA - The Secretary General of the DPR, Indra Iskandar, has urged DPR staff to commute to work using public transport. This call was issued to follow up on directives from President Prabowo Subianto and DPR leadership regarding the efficient use of resources and budgets. “Staff are urged to reduce the use of personal vehicles and switch to public transport,” Indra told Kompas.com on Monday (30/3/2026). Indra further stated that electricity in the office will be turned off once it is no longer in use, at the latest by 18:00 WIB. “Lifts and escalators will be operated from 07:00 to 18:00 local time. After 18:00, efficiency measures will reduce lift operations by up to 70 percent,” said Indra. Furthermore, the use of telephones and water will be adjusted according to needs. The operating hours for sports facilities, which impact electricity consumption, will also be limited to a maximum of 18:00 WIB. Meanwhile, Indra mentioned that fuel savings for operational official vehicles will apply to mid-level high officials, primary high officials, and administrative officials. “Operational vehicles for staff will be adjusted according to the scheduled WFH/WFA,” he said. “Meetings conducted online will not provide catering,” added Indra.
