Effective This Afternoon: Check the Schedule for One-Way, Contraflow, and Odd-Even Systems for the Lebaran Return Flow
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Traffic engineering for the 2026 Lebaran return flow will begin to be implemented this afternoon, on Monday (23/3/2026). Several schemes such as one-way, contraflow, and odd-even will be applied to anticipate the surge of vehicles heading to Jakarta and its surroundings.
The Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Aan Suhanan, previously predicted that the peak of the Lebaran return flow would occur on 24 March 2026.
Aan reminded the public who will return to their places of origin to avoid that time to reduce the potential for congestion.
Here is the schedule for the 2026 Lebaran return flow traffic engineering:
- One-way system (single direction)
Time: 23 March 2026 at 12:00 WIB until 29 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB
Location: Km 421 Semarang-Solo Toll until Km 70 Jakarta-Cikampek Toll
- Contraflow system (temporary lane reversal)
Time: Monday, 23 March 2026 at 14:00 WIB until Sunday, 29 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB
Location: KM 70 Cikampek until KM 47 Karawang Barat
Time: Tuesday, 24 March 2026 at 14:00–19:00 WIB and Sunday, 29 March 2026 at 14:00–19:00 WIB
Location: KM 21 until KM 8 Jagorawi
