Educational Units Under UIN Jakarta's BLU to Continue Operating Despite Court Ruling

JAKARTA – The ruling of the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) has no impact on the management of educational units under the Public Service Agency (BLU) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

The statement was made by Alwanih, legal counsel for UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, in response to the PTUN Jakarta ruling that granted the lawsuit filed by the Ketilang Insan Mandiri (KIM) Foundation against Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs (KMA) Number 1543 of 2025. In the case, the Minister of Religious Affairs stood as the Defendant, while UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta was the Intervening Second Defendant.

Alwanih explained that the lawsuit against KMA Number 1543 of 2025 was initially filed by three foundations.

However, during the trial proceedings, the Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Foundation and the Triguna Utama Syarif Hidayatullah Educational Foundation withdrew their claims, and the withdrawals were approved by the panel of judges at PTUN Jakarta.

Consequently, the ruling handed down by the court ultimately concerned only the lawsuit of the Ketilang Insan Mandiri (KIM) Foundation.

“Therefore, the PTUN ruling must be understood proportionally in accordance with the object of the dispute examined and decided by the panel of judges,” she said in her statement in Jakarta on Sunday (18/7/2028).

“The ruling relates only to the lawsuit of the KIM Foundation and does not automatically change the management of educational units under the BLU of UIN Jakarta,” Alwanih added.

According to her, the ruling does not change the legal status of the educational units nor disrupt the provision of education within UIN Jakarta.

“What the court decided was an administrative matter of the KIM Foundation, not the legality of the schools’ operations nor the management of educational units under the BLU of UIN Jakarta,” she affirmed.
