Educational Units Under UIN Jakarta's BLU to Continue Operating Despite Court Ruling

The Jakarta Administrative Court’s (PTUN) ruling will not impact the management of educational units under the Public Service Agency (BLU) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This statement was made by the university’s legal counsel, Alwanih, in response to the court’s decision to grant a lawsuit filed by the Ketilang Insan Mandiri (KIM) Foundation against the Minister of Religious Affairs’ Decree (KMA) Number 1543 of 2025. In this case, the Minister of Religious Affairs acted as the Defendant, while UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta was the Co-Defendant for Intervention. Alwanih explained that the lawsuit against KMA Number 1543 of 2025 was initially filed by three foundations. However, during the trial process, the Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Foundation and the Triguna Utama Syarif Hidayatullah Foundation withdrew their lawsuits, a move approved by the panel of judges at the Jakarta Administrative Court. Consequently, the court’s final ruling only concerns the lawsuit filed by the Ketilang Insan Mandiri (KIM) Foundation. ‘Therefore, the PTUN ruling must be understood proportionally according to the object of the dispute examined and decided by the panel of judges,’ he stated in Jakarta on Sunday. ‘The ruling only relates to the KIM Foundation’s lawsuit and does not automatically alter the management of educational units under the UIN Jakarta BLU,’ he added. According to him, the ruling neither changes the legal status of the educational units nor disrupts the provision of education within the UIN Jakarta environment. ‘What the court decided was an administrative issue of the KIM Foundation, not the operational legality of the schools or the management of educational units under the UIN Jakarta BLU,’ he asserted.
