Education must evolve to face global challenges, says Brunei minister

Bandar Seri Begawan (ANTARA) - In an era marked by rapid technological shifts, global uncertainty, and the urgent need for sustainable practices, educational systems must continue to evolve, stated Brunei’s Minister of Education on Tuesday (9/6).

Speaking at an international symposium on educational development held near Brunei’s capital, Brunei’s Minister of Education, Hajah Romaizah Haji Mohd Salleh, stated that the education system needs to become more resilient, inclusive, and forward-looking to face various new challenges and opportunities.

The Minister noted that these challenges, ranging from the digital divide to the need for pedagogical reform, are too significant to be addressed by a single institution or nation alone.

She emphasised the importance of cooperation and knowledge exchange among stakeholders, stating that meaningful progress can only be achieved through collective efforts.

The symposium featured a series of keynote speeches and explored various issues surrounding curriculum transformation, future-ready universities, innovation, and developments in the teacher education landscape.
