A National Seminar titled ‘Quality Education for All: Creating a Superior, Disciplined and Globally Aware Generation’ was successfully held at the Buperta Hall (12/6), featuring national education figures, academics, education observers, and practitioners with a strong interest in improving the quality of Indonesian education. The event, initiated as a space for dialogue and collaboration among education stakeholders, raised various strategic issues related to character strengthening, improving learning quality, and efforts to create a generation ready to face global challenges. During the seminar, the speakers expressed appreciation for various educational transformation programmes run by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) under the leadership of Minister Prof Abdul Mu’ti. According to the speakers, various policies focusing on character strengthening, improving teacher quality, and meaningful learning are important steps in realising quality education for all Indonesian children. Head of Buperta Pramuka, Budy Sugandi, assessed that the current policy direction of Kemendikdasmen is in line with the nation’s needs in building the character of the younger generation. ‘We appreciate the commitment of Kemendikdasmen under the leadership of Minister Abdul Mu’ti, which continues to strengthen character education as the foundation for Indonesia’s human resource development. Various programmes that encourage discipline, leadership, mutual cooperation, and character formation of students are very much in line with the values that have been developed through scouting education,’ he said. On the same occasion, writer and education observer Ahmad Munji stated that the ongoing educational transformation shows a positive direction for the future of national education. ‘The educational transformation carried out by Kemendikdasmen shows a positive direction. The focus on improving learning quality, strengthening teacher capacity, and creating a more meaningful learning environment are important steps to ensure every Indonesian child receives a quality education. These efforts deserve support from all elements of society,’ he said. In line with the other speakers, SMK Alwahyu teacher and Head of Education at the Panglayungan Foundation, H.M. A. Rasyid, assessed that teachers are increasingly receiving attention in the national education quality improvement agenda. ‘From the perspective of education practitioners, we feel that various Kemendikdasmen programmes increasingly place teachers as the main actors in improving education quality. Strengthening teacher competence, attention to student character, and the drive to create learning that is relevant to future needs are very positive policies and need to be continuously strengthened,’ he said. Through this seminar, the more than 350 participants were invited to strengthen their shared commitment to supporting the ongoing educational transformation efforts, while actively contributing to creating a superior, disciplined, character-driven, and globally aware Indonesian generation towards the realisation of Golden Indonesia 2045.
