The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has updated the number of tests, test question formulas, and test data processing within the series of activities for the 2026 Friendly School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS).

Rusprita Putri Utami, Head of the Centre for Character Strengthening (Puspeka) at Kemendikdasmen, said that new students will take several tests on the third day of the Friendly MPLS implementation.

“In 2026, there are a number of reinforcements compared to the 2025 MPLS, particularly in the aspect of recognising self-potential and the support needs of students,” Rusprita said in Central Jakarta on Wednesday.

She further explained that the implementation of tests during the MPLS activities has been ongoing since last year, namely a reading literacy and numeracy assessment with a duration of 60 minutes.

This year, her party has developed the test into three parts with a duration of 90 minutes, covering the initial identification of socio-emotional conditions and learning concentration, a reading literacy and numeracy assessment, and the identification of talents and interests.

In the 2025 Friendly MPLS, the assessments given to new students were managed and their results processed by each respective school.

Rusprita said that this year’s test results will be in the form of a detailed report for each new student and a recapitulation for the school, which can be accessed through the Friendly MPLS System.

“Therefore, not only will teachers utilise the test results as a basis for designing learning preparations, but headmasters can also use them for planning school programmes related to talents, interests, and the realisation of a safe and comfortable school culture,” Rusprita said.

She also stated that the test results can be given to the students’ parents so they can utilise the results to strengthen the parenting process at home.
