Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has announced that the ‘Rumah Pendidikan’ (Education House) digital initiative and the ‘Anugerah Bug Bounty’ competition have been selected as Champion Projects in the 2026 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes. Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti said the award, organised by the United Nations’ International Telecommunication Union (ITU), represents the highest form of international recognition for innovations with a major impact on global sustainable development. “This recognition proves that the digital transformation of Indonesian education is not merely a technological agenda, but a state commitment to ensure every student, wherever they are, receives a quality education,” Mu’ti stated in Jakarta on Thursday. He said the achievement positions Indonesia as a leader in developing safe, inclusive, and large-scale Digital Public Infrastructure. ‘Rumah Pendidikan’, he continued, is Indonesia’s national education super-application that integrates various services into one unified digital ecosystem. Both educational innovations, Mu’ti said, are part of the Digitalisation of Learning programme, one of the President’s Quick Best Results Programmes launched by Kemendikdasmen to deliver classrooms that are more dynamic, interactive, and equitable for all students across Indonesia. He added that the programme was born not merely because of technological trends, but as a strategic response to real educational challenges: from low literacy achievement to pandemic-induced learning loss. This commitment is reinforced through Presidential Instruction Number 7 of 2025, which emphasises the revitalisation of educational units, the construction of top-tier schools, and the comprehensive implementation of digitalised learning. The award was won through a highly rigorous international selection process.
