Education Ministry to Operate 17 New Integrated National Schools
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is ready to build and operate 17 new Integrated National Schools (SNT) in various districts and cities this year.
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti said his party is currently preparing adequate transitional classes, both by utilising various rooms in Technical Implementation Units (UPT) and other spaces provided by local governments during the construction process of the new SNT buildings.
“For the 17 SNT that will operate in 2026, adequate transitional classes have been prepared, such as in the Nusantara Capital City (OIKN), Kemendikdasmen UPTs, and other learning spaces provided by local governments,” said Minister Mu’ti during the SNT Programme Media Briefing at Plaza Insan Berprestasi, Kemendikdasmen Building A, Central Jakarta, on Monday.
He further mentioned that the 17 SNT will be located in Bogor Regency, Cianjur Regency, Gowa Regency, Bone Bolango Regency, Tidore Islands City, Nusantara Capital City, Banyumas Regency, Jepara Regency, Subulussalam City, Tarakan City, Donggala Regency, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Minahasa Regency, Kupang Regency, Central Buton Regency, Tebo Regency, and East Tanjung Jabung Regency.
Regarding the overall target, the ministry has received a directive from President Prabowo Subianto to build SNT in stages across 500 districts and cities by 2029.
“The SNT is also being implemented following the President’s very clear directive, in which the government is preparing 500 SNT services in stages until 2029,” he said.
To support the construction and operation of the SNT this year, the ministry has received an Additional Budget (ABT) of Rp9.12 trillion, which will be disbursed in two stages specifically for this presidential priority programme. The first phase of the ABT disbursement for the construction and operation of the SNT programme amounts to Rp204.5 billion, and the second phase amounts to Rp8.9 trillion.
