Education Ministry Strengthens Subject-Based PMKKA Training for Teachers

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is strengthening the implementation of independent training in Deep Learning, Coding, and Artificial Intelligence (PMKKA) for teachers and education personnel by adopting a Teacher Experimental Training (TET) method based on specific subjects. Director General of Teachers and Education Personnel Nunuk Suryani stated that this reinforcement marks a subsequent phase from the programme’s initial period, which was directed at preparation and piloting. “If in the initial stage we focused on preparation and piloting, this year our main focus is strengthening the implementation of subject-based PMKKA,” Nunuk said during the launch event in Jakarta on Thursday. “Now it is direct implementation in their respective subjects, so mathematics teachers meet with mathematics teachers, Indonesian language teachers meet with Indonesian language teachers. So it is direct training, then implementation, and the next meeting is reflection,” Nunuk added. She further explained that this strengthening of implementation is intended to ensure the philosophy of Conscious, Meaningful, and Joyful Deep Learning is truly applied in classroom teaching practices. Therefore, the regular training for these three competencies will involve working group forums, such as Teacher Working Groups (KKG) and Subject Teacher Deliberations (MGMP), as the training facilitators come from National Facilitators and Subject-Based Working Group Facilitators. This regular training will utilise Teacher Learning Days as a primary platform for improving educator competence. Meanwhile, to broaden access and opportunities, the ministry is also ready to provide tiered training through the Independent Training Feature on the GTK Room (Ruang GTK), as well as blended training programmes via the GTK Room Learning Management System (LMS).
