Education Ministry Prepares Various Facilities for Integrated National Schools

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is ready to build various facilities at Integrated National Schools to deliver quality education services closer to students. Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti stated that the Integrated National Schools (SNT), an idea from President Prabowo Subianto, aim to develop students’ potential comprehensively, including their interests, talents, character, and abilities, so they can develop optimally. “SNT is not merely the construction of new schools. SNT is the state’s endeavour to bring quality education services closer to children in the regions, while optimally developing their potential interests, talents, character, and abilities,” said Minister Abdul Mu’ti in Jakarta on Tuesday. Furthermore, the SNT will have a number of world-class international standard laboratories, namely science laboratories covering biology, physics, chemistry, and biotech, as well as computer and artificial intelligence (AI) laboratories, language laboratories, agricultural and livestock land laboratories, and other skills development spaces. To support knowledge renewal, the SNT will also feature an international-standard library and learning commons that can access various international academic journals online, along with discussion rooms and co-working spaces for students. For students interested in sports, he continued, the SNT will provide a standard football pitch, basketball court, and swimming pool, as well as a multifunctional sports hall that can function for tennis, badminton, and volleyball. Meanwhile, for the development of teachers and education personnel, the ministry will equip the SNT with teacher collaboration rooms and a digitalisation system. “So what is integrated is not only the levels and buildings, but also the learning, teacher development, character building, talent development, facility utilisation, and quality assurance. Thus, student development can be supported more holistically and sustainably,” said Minister Abdul Mu’ti.
