Education Ministry Opens Registration for 2026 Academic Aptitude Test for High School Students

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has officially opened registration for the 2026 Academic Aptitude Test (TKA) for senior high school and vocational school students. Registration runs from 27 July to 27 September 2026, while the main test is scheduled from 26 October to 8 November 2026.

Head of the Education Assessment Centre, Rahmawati, stated that the test results can be used as a consideration in further education selection and are part of efforts to improve education quality by providing credible information on learning outcomes. “This year we hope to be better and more prepared for the TKA registration period, as the implementation timeline is longer,” she said.

She explained that feedback from last year’s evaluation has led to several policy improvements. These include scheduling adjustments so that students only sit one mandatory subject per day, an extension of the test duration to 75 minutes, and the addition of vocational subjects, bringing the total to 50 subjects based on specific skill programmes. Participants with residual data are also permitted to register but are urged to update their information promptly.

Regarding test supervision, the ministry will strengthen oversight through increased involvement of higher education institutions. The ministry urges all prospective participants to ensure their personal data is correct and to follow all registration stages via the official TKA website.
