The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has opened the New Student Admission System (SPMB) for Integrated National Schools (SNT) at the junior and senior high school levels from 21-27 July, with the selection results to be announced on 3 August. Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti urged the public to follow the information through official channels provided by Kemendikdasmen to avoid misinformation and fraud. “We ask the public to follow information through the official channels of Kemendikdasmen, local governments, education offices, and the SNT portal. No party can promise graduation or profit from the student admission process outside of official regulations,” said Minister Abdul Mu’ti in Jakarta on Tuesday. During the selection process, prospective SNT students will undergo both administrative and scholastic assessments. The ministry will then announce the SPMB SNT results on 3 August and require successful candidates to re-register from 4-7 August. The School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) for new SNT students will commence on 10 August. Minister Abdul Mu’ti explained that prospective SNT students are those with above-average abilities from various sub-districts within the participating regencies and cities, hence the SPMB process is designed by a special team at the national level rather than by local governments. For the first year, Kemendikdasmen will only accept 40 new students for the junior high school level and 40 for the senior high school level, with each level opening only two study groups or classes.
