Education Ministry: Integrated School SPMB Selection Results Announced 3 August

No party can guarantee a pupil’s admission or take advantage of the student admissions process outside official provisions.

Jakarta (ANTARA) — The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has opened the New Student Admissions System (SPMB) for Integrated National Schools (SNT) at the junior and senior secondary levels from 21 to 27 July, with the selection results to be announced on 3 August.

Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti has asked the public to follow information through official channels provided by the ministry in order to avoid misinformation and fraud.

“We ask the public to follow information through Kemendikdasmen’s official channels, regional governments, Education Offices, and the official SNT portal. No party can guarantee a pupil’s admission or profit from the student admissions process outside official provisions,” said Minister Abdul Mu’ti in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Regarding the selection process, Minister Abdul Mu’ti said prospective new SNT students will undergo both administrative and scholastic selection.

The ministry will then announce the results of the SNT SPMB selection on 3 August, and prospective students who pass are asked to re-register between 4 and 7 August.

The School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) activities for new SNT students will begin on 10 August.

Minister Abdul Mu’ti said prospective SNT students are those with above-average abilities from various districts within the regencies or cities hosting SNTs, so the SPMB stages are designed by a special team at the national level rather than by regional governments.

For the first year, he continued, Kemendikdasmen will admit only 40 new SNT students at the junior secondary level and 40 at the senior secondary level, with each level opening only two study groups, or classes.
