Education Minister to Add 800,000 Digital Interactive Boards in Schools

The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, has stated that an additional 800,000 digital interactive boards, or interactive flat panels, will be distributed to schools throughout Indonesia to optimise the school digitalisation programme. “This year, we will add 800,000 IFPs for educational units across Indonesia,” said Abdul Mu’ti during the inauguration of the Revitalisation Programme at SMPN 9 Pangkalpinang on Thursday. He said President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to implement the school revitalisation and digitalisation programme, as part of the government’s commitment to providing quality education for all and building safe and comfortable schools. Throughout 2025, the ministry has distributed 288,865 digital interactive panel boards to schools across Indonesia, following up on President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to improve the standard and quality of education for all Indonesian citizens. He acknowledged that the addition of digital interactive boards in schools had raised questions from various parties. Firstly, adding IFPs would naturally increase the electricity load at schools. “We have already cooperated with PLN for a free power capacity upgrade at schools, and for the operational costs, schools can certainly use the School Operational Assistance funds,” he said. He stressed that all schools receive BOS funds and can use them to operate these digital interactive boards. “We are not only distributing digital interactive boards, but also training teachers so that these digital boards can be used as effectively as possible,” he said.
