Education Minister to Add 800,000 Digital Interactive Boards in Schools

Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) - The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, has stated that 800,000 units of digital interactive boards, or interactive flat panels (IFP), will be added to schools throughout Indonesia to optimise school digitalisation programmes.

“This year, we will add 800,000 IFPs for educational units across Indonesia,” said Abdul Mu’ti during the inauguration of the SMPN 9 Pangkalpinang Revitalisation Programme on Thursday.

He noted that President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to implement school revitalisation and digitalisation programmes, as part of the government’s commitment to providing quality education for all and building safe and comfortable schools.

Throughout 2025, the Ministry has distributed 288,865 digital interactive panels to schools across Indonesia, following President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to enhance the standard and quality of education for all Indonesian citizens.

He acknowledged that the addition of digital interactive boards in all schools has raised questions from various parties, particularly regarding the increased electricity demand in schools.

“We have collaborated with PLN (the state electricity company) to increase school power capacity free of charge, and for operational costs, the School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds can certainly be utilised,” he said.

He emphasised that all schools receive BOS funds, which can be used to operate these digital interactive boards.

“We are not only distributing digital interactive boards, but we are also training teachers to ensure these digital boards can be utilised to their full potential,” he added.
