Education Minister Inaugurates Revitalisation of 29 Schools in Aceh
Bireuen — The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Professor Abdul Mu’ti, inaugurated the completion of educational facility revitalisation across Bireuen District in Aceh on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
The inauguration marked the completion of construction and improvement works at 29 schools with a total assistance value of approximately 36 billion rupiah, expected to enhance the quality and comfort of the learning process for students.
The ceremony also signified the completion of the 2025 education revitalisation programme in Aceh Province, which reached 726 educational units with a total budget of approximately 688.2 billion rupiah. The programme encompassed all levels of education, ranging from early childhood education (PAUD), primary and secondary education, to non-formal education.
“Through this revitalisation, the government can ensure teaching and learning activities recover and operate optimally in disaster-affected areas,” the Education Minister said in a written statement.
Abdul Mu’ti stated that the education revitalisation programme targeting Bireuen District in Aceh Province successfully reinvigorated the learning spirit of both students and teachers by improving comfort during teaching and learning activities.
For the 2026 education revitalisation programme in Bireuen District, 116 disaster-affected schools have signed cooperation agreements with a total assistance value reaching 167.4 billion rupiah. Of this number, 86 schools will be managed independently by the schools themselves, whilst the remaining 30 schools will be implemented by the Indonesian Army (TNI AD).
“Today we will lay the foundation stone for development at State Kindergarten Muhajidin, which has received revitalisation assistance for 2026. This represents the realisation of the 2026 revitalisation programme, which fortunately we have already designated and can now begin construction,” the Education Minister said.
