Education Minister Appreciates Rembang Scholarship Forum as Long-Term Human Capital Investment

Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti has expressed appreciation for the Rembang Regency Government in Central Java, which has consistently expanded access to education through the Forum Anak Beasiswa Rembang as a long-term investment in human resource development. According to him, such an initiative aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to broaden access to quality education services that can be reached by all Indonesian children, regardless of their economic background or region of origin. “A forum like this is not merely a gathering place for scholarship recipients. More importantly, this forum must become a space for the birth of a young generation that is intelligent, confident, and ready to serve the community,” said Minister Abdul Mu’ti in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday. He stated that the forum is proof that the commitment of regional governments can pave the way for Indonesian children to achieve their future through education. On the occasion, the Minister also emphasised that the government continues to expand educational access through various affirmative policies, such as Sekolah Rakyat, Sekolah Unggul Garuda, Garuda Transformasi, and the Integrated National School, so that opportunities for advancement are open to every child with a passion for learning. “This opportunity is open to everyone. Be confident, even if you come from a modest family or live in an area far from the city centre. The future is built through earnest learning,” said Minister Abdul Mu’ti. He also encouraged regional scholarship programmes to be further developed according to the potential of each area. “We must master digital technology because it is a necessity for the future. However, it is equally important to maintain digital civility. Technology should make us more civilised, not cause us to lose our human values,” said the Minister. On the same occasion, the Patron of the Rembang Scholarship Forum, Mochamad Hanies Cholil Barro, reported that since 2017 the programme has enabled 494 students to pursue higher education, comprising 389 recipients at state universities and 105 at private universities in Rembang Regency. “The Rembang Scholarship Forum must continue to demonstrate that its existence brings benefits to the community. These children will become the next generation for the development of Rembang Regency and Indonesia,” said Hanies.
