Education Funding Requires Comprehensive Planning

Preparing for children’s education costs can no longer rely solely on savings. Rising education expenses and various future uncertainties mean families need to develop a more comprehensive plan, from setting educational goals and preparing funding to ensuring the plan remains on track despite life’s risks.

Responding to this need, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, together with PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) and PT Asuransi Jiwa Manulife Indonesia, has introduced Danamon Prasmul EduWealth (DPEW), an education planning ecosystem that combines educational, banking, and insurance protection services in one solution.

Through this concept, families are not only encouraged to set clearer educational targets for their children but are also assisted in preparing the necessary funds gradually and maintaining the continuity of education plans through protection against various potential risks.

The collaboration integrates the educational perspective of Universitas Prasetiya Mulya, the financial services of Danamon, and the insurance protection of Manulife Indonesia, so that the education planning process can be carried out in a more focused, sustainable, and comprehensive manner.

Carrying the theme ‘Unlock the Future’, the launch of DPEW represents a synergy between educational institutions, the banking sector, and the insurance industry in supporting long-term education planning.

The event, held at the Harry-Jusuf Auditorium, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya BSD City campus, was attended by parents, school principals, guidance and counselling teachers, education communities, industry practitioners, and leaders from the three institutions.

Chairman of the Prasetiya Mulya Foundation, Djisman S. Simandjuntak, stated that education is the best investment parents can give their children. He said that preparing for education is not only about choosing the best university but also about ensuring every child has the opportunity to develop their fullest potential.

‘We believe that education is not just about choosing the best university, but also about ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential. Through DPEW, we want to help Indonesian families prepare for their children’s educational journey in a more focused, planned, and sustainable way,’ he said on Monday.

He added that future educational challenges require collaboration from various parties so that families can access more complete solutions in preparing for their children’s future.

Danamon’s Consumer Funding & Wealth Business Head, Ivan Jaya, said that the trend of rising education costs makes early financial planning increasingly important. Through DPEW, Danamon aims to help families build a savings habit while preparing education funds gradually according to each family’s needs.

Meanwhile, Manulife Indonesia’s President Director & CEO, Lauren Sulistiawati, believes that protection is an inseparable part of long-term education planning. She noted that appropriate protection can help families maintain the continuity of their children’s education plans when facing unexpected life risks.

With this integrated approach, DPEW is expected to help Indonesian families develop more comprehensive education planning, from the planning and funding stages through to protection.
