EDS receives ISO 9001

JAKARTA (JP): Automotive wiring maker EDS Manufacturing Indonesia has received ISO 9001 certification from the United States' Underwriters Laboratories Inc., the company announced.

The company said Saturday it also received over the weekend the QS 9000 certification from Underwriters for the international quality of its product.

EDS, which is based in Tangerang, West Java, is equally owned by PT Astra Dian Lestari and Japan's Yazaki Corporation.

It produces wiring harness, all of which is exported to the U.S. and Australia's Ford and General Motor in Australia. It also produced automotive low tension electric wire, the company said.

The company exported around 150 tons of wires a month, worth US$80 million this year, it said. (das)
