Eddy Soeparno Invites Bloomberg NEF to Amplify Indonesia's Renewable Energy Potential

Before concluding his series of activities at London Climate Action Week, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Eddy Soeparno, together with two Deputy Chairmen of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Aryo Djojohadikusumo and Bobby Gafur Umar, met with Bloomberg New Energy Finance CEO Albert Cheung and his senior management at their headquarters in London. During the meeting, Eddy outlined the commitment consistently pursued by President Prabowo to strengthen national energy independence, implement the energy transition, and take climate action. “In the meeting, I detailed President Prabowo’s commitment as outlined in the Asta Cita and its implementation from 2024 to the present,” Eddy said in a written statement on Sunday (28/6/2026). “I invited Bloomberg NEF to report to the international public on the positive progress Indonesia has achieved in accelerating the energy transition and addressing climate change,” he continued. Eddy expressed hope that Bloomberg NEF, as a strategic research institution in the renewable energy and energy transition sector, would help amplify Indonesia’s hard work and achievements towards reaching Net Zero Emission before 2060. “Bloomberg NEF not only understands and is ready to support explaining Indonesia’s policies in the energy and mineral sectors, particularly critical minerals needed in the renewable energy and high-tech era such as AI, but also regularly publishes studies on Indonesia and frequently gathers Indonesian business players at leading forums organised by Bloomberg NEF both domestically and abroad,” he explained. At the conclusion of the meeting, Eddy, along with Kadin and Bloomberg NEF, resolved to build active communication so that Indonesia’s potential in renewable energy, critical minerals, and carbon trading can be widely conveyed with accurate analysis to the international investment community and business players. “I am optimistic that with the support of credible institutions like Bloomberg NEF, Indonesia’s investment potential and opportunities in the renewable energy, mineral, and technology sectors will be communicated more widely and accurately,” concluded the University of Indonesia political science doctorate holder.
