Ecstasy Safe Uncovered in Batam Nightclub 'Narcotics Den'
The National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) raided a nightclub in Batam City, Riau Islands. Police discovered a safe containing ecstasy at the nightclub, which was described as a ‘den’ of narcotics.
The operation was carried out on Monday (10/8/2026) at 01.00 WIB. The case was disclosed by the Director of Narcotics Crime (Dirtipidnarkoba) of Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso.
The action was conducted by a joint team from Sub-Directorate IV of Dittipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri and the NIC Task Force of Bareskrim Polri, led by Senior Commissioner Handik Zusen and Senior Commissioner Kevin Leleury, along with Assistant Senior Commissioner Titus Yudho Ully.
“The Joint Team of Sub-Directorate IV and the NIC Task Force uncovered a narcotics distribution case at the HH Club Planet 3.0 Pub & KTV nightlife entertainment venue, located in Batam City, Riau Islands,” said Brigadier General Eko Hadi in a written statement to journalists on Monday (10/8).
Brigadier General Eko Hadi stated that the drug distribution was strongly suspected to involve the management of the nightlife venue. “It was carried out by the management of the nightlife venue,” he asserted.
The Joint Team officers secured 32 individuals during the operation, who are classified as suspects and witnesses. In addition to securing the suspects and witnesses, officers also confiscated a quantity of narcotics evidence from the location.
Brigadier General Eko Hadi has not yet detailed the chronology or the specific evidence seized in the raid. “Further information will be provided by the Dirtipidnarkoba of Bareskrim Polri after the examination of the suspects and witnesses is completed,” he concluded.
During the raid, officers also seized a large safe. When asked about its contents, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso stated, “It contained ecstasy.” However, Eko has not yet specified the quantity of ecstasy found inside the safe. He said officers are currently still cataloguing the evidence seized in the operation.
