EcoSync Reaches IndoCEISS 2026 Final: UNM Students Present Blockchain Innovation for the Environment
Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM), a Digital Business Campus, has once again achieved national recognition. The Triple A team advanced to the final round of the National Indonesian Creative and Information Technology Student Competition (IndoCEISS) 2026 in the UI/UX Design category on Tuesday (30/6/2026). The Triple A team presented the EcoSync innovation, a blockchain-based platform designed to turn waste processing into added value by delivering a more transparent, accountable, and sustainable waste bank management system. The team, consisting of Afra Nur Rafifah and Aqil Syafiq Ramadhan from the Informatics Study Programme, and Muhammad Ahsan Rizqi from the Information Systems Study Programme, passed the initial selection stage to represent UNM at the national competition. Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at UNM, Dr Anton, expressed his appreciation for the team’s achievement in competing against participants from various universities across Indonesia. ‘We congratulate the Triple A team for advancing to the final stage and competing in the prestigious IndoCEISS 2026 event with the EcoSync innovation,’ he said in a statement released on Saturday (4/7/2026). He added that this platform proves UNM students are capable of producing solutions that not only excel in interface design and user experience but also contribute to environmental sustainability issues. Meanwhile, Head of the Informatics Study Programme at UNM, Arfhan Prasetyo, assessed that this success is proof that learning in the Informatics programme does not only focus on technical skills but also encourages students to create innovations that impact society. According to him, UNM continuously encourages students to develop technology-based solutions that address community needs. EcoSync is an example of how programming competence, design, and understanding of social problems can be combined into an innovation that has beneficial value and competitiveness at the national level. ‘This achievement also shows that UNM Informatics students are ready to compete in the era of digital transformation,’ Arfhan explained. Head of the Information Systems Study Programme at UNM, Dr Sukmawati Anggraeni Putri, added that cross-study programme collaboration was one of the important factors behind the birth of EcoSync. The collaboration between the Informatics and Information Systems programmes in the Triple A team proves that UNM students are capable of working in a multidisciplinary manner. The UI/UX Design competence possessed by Muhammad Ahsan Rizqi complemented the technical abilities of his colleagues in the Informatics programme, resulting in the EcoSync platform, which is transparent, accountable, and oriented towards user needs. She emphasised that this is proof that UNM has succeeded in producing digital talent ready to compete at the national level. The IndoCEISS 2026 National Competition is a prestigious event that brings together students from various universities in Indonesia to compete in the fields of information technology and the digital creative industry. In the UI/UX Design category, participants are challenged to present interface designs that are not only visually appealing but also highly functional, offering optimal user experiences and solutions to real-world problems. Through EcoSync, the Triple A team presented a platform concept that utilises blockchain technology to increase transparency in waste management while encouraging the creation of a more sustainable circular economy ecosystem. UNM is committed to supporting students in developing innovations and achieving success through various national and international competitions. This support is realised through lecturer mentoring, strengthening industry-based competencies, and providing a learning ecosystem that encourages the birth of innovative, competitive, and impactful digital solutions for society.
