EcoSync Reaches IndoCEISS 2026 Final: UNM Students Present Blockchain Innovation for the Environment
Nusa Mandiri University (UNM), a digital business-focused campus, has achieved a national milestone. Team Triple A has advanced to the final round of the 2026 Indonesian Creative and Information Technology Student Competition (IndoCEISS) in the UI/UX Design category.
Team Triple A introduced ‘EcoSync’, a platform designed to transform waste into value-added resources using blockchain technology. The system is engineered to provide a more transparent, accountable, and sustainable waste bank management system.
The team, comprising Afra Nur Rafifah and Aqil Syafiq Ramadhan from the Informatics Study Programme, and Muhammad Ahsan Rizqi from the Information Systems Study Programme, successfully passed the initial selection stages to represent UNM at the national level.
The Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at UNM, Dr Anton, expressed his appreciation for the team’s achievement in competing against participants from various universities across Indonesia. He noted that the platform proves UNM students can produce solutions that excel in user interface and experience while contributing to environmental sustainability issues.
Arfhan Prasetyo, Head of the Informatics Study Programme, stated that this success demonstrates that learning in the Informatics department focuses not only on technical skills but also on encouraging students to create impactful innovations for society. He added that UNM continues to encourage students to develop technology-based solutions that address community needs. EcoSync serves as an example of how programming, design, and social awareness can be integrated into a nationally competitive innovation.
Dr Sukmawati Anggraeni Putri, Head of the Information Systems Study Programme, highlighted that cross-disciplinary collaboration was a key factor behind EcoSync. The collaboration between the Informatics and Information Systems programmes allowed the team to combine technical expertise with UI/UX design skills to create a user-oriented, transparent, and accountable platform.
The IndoCEISS 2026 national competition is a prestigious event bringing together students from various Indonesian universities to compete in information technology and the digital creative industry. In the UI/UX Design category, participants are challenged to create interfaces that are visually appealing, provide optimal user experiences, and offer solutions to real-world problems.
Through EcoSync, Team Triple A presents a digital platform concept that utilises blockchain technology to increase transparency in waste management and promote a more sustainable circular economy ecosystem. UNM remains committed to supporting students in developing innovations and achieving excellence through various national and international competitions.
