Economy: Purbaya pursues steel company taxes to Magelang coffee

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is pursuing potential revenue from 40 steel companies that have not fulfilled their tax obligations, with a total value of around Rp5 trillion.

Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sudaryono visited the Ministry of Finance office to discuss evaluation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme together with Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia China (KCIC), or Whoosh, has served 9,000 priority passengers during the January–August 2026 period. Cumulatively since 2025, the total number of priority passengers served has reached 24,000.

The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) has prepared a mechanism for application and reporting for micro and small enterprises (UMK) wishing to obtain an incentive in the form of a marketplace service fee reduction of at least 50 percent.

Coffee has become one of the leading products of Magelang Regency, Central Java, given that this commodity has considerable potential because it is supported by the region’s diverse geographical and topographical conditions, ranging from lowlands to highland areas.
