Economy Class Kerakyatan Train Tickets Jakarta-Yogyakarta Selling Briskly
Jakarta — PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has recorded consistent 100 per cent occupancy rates for the Economy Class Kerakyatan train service, including the additional Pasarsenen-Lempuyangan train scheduled from 11 March through 24 March 2026, with each journey reaching full capacity.
“On today’s journey, 11 March 2026, we recorded 388 passengers with occupancy reaching 104 per cent,” said Franoto Wibowo, Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Regional Operations (Daop) 1 Jakarta, on Wednesday in Jakarta.
According to him, the high public demand is driven not only by affordable fares but also by the quality of comfort and safety standards.
For journeys to Yogyakarta, tickets are priced at approximately 175,000 rupiah after a 30 per cent discount through the government stimulus programme.
For departures scheduled from 25 March to 1 April 2026, tickets for the train departing Pasarsenen Station at 3:25 PM remain available.
The Economy Class Kerakyatan Pasarsenen-Lempuyangan service began operating from 11 March through 1 April 2026 to support public mobility during the Eid holiday season.
The additional train consists of two service classes, comprising five executive class carriages and four economy class carriages.
Franoto stated that the Economy Class Kerakyatan train represents part of PT Kereta Api Indonesia’s (KAI) commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and affordable public transportation for all segments of society.
“This affordable fare programme is expected to assist the public in undertaking holiday travel more easily whilst supporting public mobility and economic activity,” he said.
