Economic Growth Expected to Drive Prosperity
Economic growth is expected to continue in tandem with improvements in public welfare. A better-performing economy is hoped to open up more job opportunities, support income growth, and strengthen the quality of life for the people.
This view was expressed by the President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Almuzzammil Yusuf, while serving as the ceremony inspector for the 81st Independence Day commemoration of the Republic of Indonesia at the East Parking Lot of the PKS DPTP Office in Jakarta.
Almuzzammil said Indonesia should be grateful that economic growth has continued to rise. According to him, this momentum needs to be maintained so that it provides increasingly broad benefits for the public.
“We are grateful that our economic growth continues to increase. However, the ultimate goal of growth is the improvement of people’s welfare,” Almuzzammil said in his statement on Tuesday (18/8/2026).
According to Almuzzammil, increased investment and economic activity can continue to be encouraged to open up employment opportunities and improve the quality of life of the people. In this way, economic growth can have an increasingly broad positive impact.
“High growth that cannot be enjoyed by the people is of no use. Every rupiah of investment must create jobs and improve the quality of life of the people,” Almuzzammil said.
He explained that economic development can be felt by the public through various aspects of daily life. This is reflected, among other things, in the ability to meet basic needs, the cost of housing and education, opportunities to obtain employment, and the ability to set aside part of one’s income for savings.
“The people read economic growth from the price of rice in the market, the cost of renting a house, children’s school fees, opportunities to get a job, the income brought home, and how much is still left to save after all family needs have been paid,” Almuzzammil said.
Therefore, Almuzzammil believes that strengthening economic growth must continue to be accompanied by efforts to expand opportunities for the public to develop. The momentum of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, according to him, can also serve as a shared spirit to encourage development that increasingly benefits the people.
“Independence must continue to be filled by creating a life that is increasingly just, prosperous, and provides opportunities for all people to grow,” Almuzzammil said.
