Vice Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), KGPAA Paku Alam X, has given his full support to the door-to-door field data collection for the Economic Census 2026 (SE2026) to be conducted by Statistics Indonesia (BPS). During a meeting with the Acting Head of BPS DIY Province, Endang Tri Wahyuningsih, at Gedhong Pareanom, Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta, on Wednesday (10/06), Sri Paduka stressed the importance of public honesty in providing data. According to Sri Paduka, quality data is the primary foundation for formulating well-targeted economic development policies. He hopes BPS will continue its educational efforts so that the public becomes well-informed about the importance of this census. Sri Paduka appreciated the use of technology in SE2026. The use of gadgets for direct data input is deemed far more effective and efficient compared to past manual methods. “Ask and then input, making it more effective and efficient. Not like the old days that required manual data processing,” said Sri Paduka. Besides focusing on the economy, the meeting also discussed the integration of poverty data through the Manunggal Raharja (MR) platform. This system is being prepared as a ‘big house’ for poverty data management in DIY, integrating data from the provincial level down to districts and cities on a by-name, by-address basis. Acting Head of BPS DIY Province, Endang Tri Wahyuningsih, explained that the output from SE2026 will produce highly detailed business mapping down to the smallest administrative level, or village. This will greatly assist the government in conducting evaluations and regional planning. Endang also welcomed the synergy with the Manunggal Raharja platform to optimise the updating of poverty data. With routine data matching (every 3 months or more frequently), government interventions for the poor are expected to become more accurate and effective. BPS hopes for support from all elements of society, from neighbourhood leaders to community figures, to make this national agenda a success for the better-measured economic future of Yogyakarta.
