Garuda TV, in collaboration with Bank Indonesia, successfully held the Economic Briefing 2026 on Friday, 24 July 2026, at the Pullman Hotel in Central Jakarta. The event was themed ‘Maintaining Stability, Strengthening Synergy, Driving Economic Growth through Productive Financing’.

Garuda TV’s President Director, Fahmi M Anwari, stated that collaboration between the media and state institutions plays a vital role in creating a productive dialogue space while encouraging the emergence of solutions to national economic development challenges. ‘We present this forum as a collaborative space that brings together various stakeholders to exchange perspectives on Indonesia’s economic challenges and opportunities,’ he said. He added that this commitment aligns with Garuda TV’s various collaborations with MSME players through a number of programmes and activities aimed at supporting the strengthening of the national business sector. ‘We hope this forum can strengthen synergy and generate ideas that have a real impact on the Indonesian economy,’ he said.

The strengthening of productive financing for the MSME sector, which is the policy direction of Bank Indonesia in maintaining monetary and financial system stability, was conveyed by Bank Indonesia’s Senior Deputy Governor, Destry Damayanti, in her keynote speech. ‘Strengthening the MSME sector is one of the keys to maintaining Indonesia’s economic growth momentum,’ she said. Through synergy between Bank Indonesia, the government, the financial services industry, and all stakeholders, productive financing needs to be continuously expanded so that MSMEs become more resilient, competitive, and able to make a greater contribution to the national economy.

Strategies for achieving economic growth were the subject of a panel discussion featuring several prominent figures and economic observers. Attendees included Secretary of the Ministry of MSMEs Loto Srinaita Ginting, Head of the MSME and Sharia Finance Regulation and Development Department at the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Ayahandayani Kussetyowati, Assistant Governor and Head of the Macroprudential Policy Department at Bank Indonesia Solikin M. Juhro, and Chief Economist of Permata Bank Josua Pardede.

In an interactive discussion guided by Aline Wiratmaja, the panellists agreed that expanding access to financing must be accompanied by increasing the capacity of business actors, strengthening the business ecosystem, and close collaboration between regulators, the financial services industry, the government, and the business world. Solikin M Juhro emphasised that in addition to maintaining monetary and financial system stability, Bank Indonesia also continues to encourage the creation of resilient and inclusive economic growth through strengthening the productive sector. He noted that advanced countries such as Japan, Germany, and China demonstrate that a strong economy is supported by competitive MSMEs. ‘Therefore, our challenge is not only to expand access to financing, but also to improve business management, financial reporting, sustainable mentoring, and to build an integrated MSME ecosystem from upstream to downstream,’ Solikin said.

Meanwhile, Josua Pardede highlighted that the challenge of MSME financing is still influenced by domestic demand conditions and the national industrial structure. Nevertheless, he assessed that the current banking liquidity condition, which is at a good level, is an important capital for strengthening the distribution of productive financing going forward. ‘The challenge is how financing distribution can better reach MSMEs, amidst the slowdown in people’s purchasing power, the suboptimal involvement of MSMEs in the manufacturing industry supply chain, and the increasing pressure from imported products,’ Josua concluded.

Through the Economic Briefing 2026, Garuda TV hopes that the exchange of ideas and perspectives that developed during the forum can serve as a reference for various stakeholders in responding to future economic challenges. The collaboration built through this forum is expected to continue in order to support the creation of an increasingly strong, inclusive, and adaptive national economic ecosystem.
