Eco-Friendly Products Propel SCG's Sales in Indonesia
Eco-friendly products have become a key pillar of SCG’s sales growth in Indonesia amidst global economic uncertainty. This strategy drove the company’s sales in Indonesia up 16% year-on-year to IDR 5.05 trillion in the first quarter of 2026, making Indonesia the largest contributor to SCG’s sales in the ASEAN region. SCG noted that Indonesia accounted for approximately 28% of its total regional sales. This growth was supported by the marketing of green products, high-value-added products, and products tailored to market needs. Peramas Wajananawat, Cement Plant Director of SCG Indonesia, stated that the company continues to prioritise green innovation to maintain competitiveness amid the economic slowdown and global uncertainty. “Based on the Inclusive Green Growth principle, we are committed to delivering innovation, expanding eco-friendly products, and creating added value for all stakeholders,” Peramas said in a press release. As an implementation of this strategy, SCG, through Jayamix, launched Jayamix Advanced Waterproof Concrete, designed to enhance building durability while reducing maintenance needs. The company has also maintained its Green Label Gold certification for its ready-mix concrete (RMC) products after meeting environmental sustainability standards. On the operational side, SCG has commenced construction of a new batching plant in Marunda, North Jakarta. The facility is intended to increase the supply capacity of ready-mix concrete and accelerate distribution to the North Jakarta and Bekasi areas. Tirayot Thamwongsa, President Director of SCG Readymix Indonesia, said the company will continue to develop construction products that prioritise environmental aspects, in line with the industry’s growing demand for low-emission materials. “We will continue to provide ready-mix concrete solutions that offer superior quality and performance while delivering added value in terms of environmental sustainability,” Tirayot said.
