Eco-Friendly Islamic Boarding School Wins Top 100 Excellence Award 2026

The Darul Amanah Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Kendal has achieved a prestigious accolade at the ‘Top 100 Excellence Award 2026’ event held in Surabaya last week. The award was won in the category of ‘Top Eco-Friendly Pesantren with Green and Healthy Environment of The Year 2026’. According to a statement received, this award was given in appreciation of Ponpes Darul Amanah’s commitment to creating a green, clean, healthy, and sustainable pesantren environment. Various environmental conservation programmes, greening of the pesantren area, cleanliness management, and the cultivation of healthy living habits among all students were among the factors that led the pesantren to win this national-level award. Representing the leadership of Ponpes Darul Amanah, H. Muhammad Fatwa, M.S.I, who also serves as Chairman of the Darul Amanah Islamic College (STAIDA) Kendal, attended in person to receive the award. On that occasion, he expressed gratitude for the award received and appreciated all members of the pesantren community who have contributed to maintaining and developing a beautiful and healthy pesantren environment. ‘This award is a trust as well as motivation for us to continue improving the quality of pesantren environmental management. We hope this award will encourage the entire Darul Amanah family to continue instilling environmental awareness values in the students,’ said H. Muhammad Fatwa. This achievement at the Top 100 Excellence Award 2026 adds to the list of awards Darul Amanah has won in the field of environmental conservation. Previously, in 2025, Darul Amanah won the Adiwiyata Award at the Central Java Provincial Level as recognition of the pesantren’s commitment to creating an educational environment that cares for and has an environmental culture. This success is clear evidence of Darul Amanah’s consistency in integrating environmental awareness values into daily pesantren life. Various programmes for greening, waste management, environmental cleanliness, water conservation, and environmental education for students continue to be developed sustainably. In 2026, Pondok Pesantren Darul Amanah has again marked an important step as the pesantren is being prepared to participate in the National Level Adiwiyata assessment. This achievement is a strategic momentum for the pesantren to further strengthen its environmental care culture while demonstrating that Islamic educational institutions can be pioneers in creating a green, healthy, clean, and sustainable environment. With the various awards it has achieved, Pondok Pesantren Darul Amanah is optimistic it can continue to make a real contribution to nurturing a generation that is not only excellent in knowledge and noble character but also has a high awareness of environmental conservation as part of the trust to protect Allah SWT’s creation.
