PT DSI Persero will fully assume export functions from January 2027. Edu Fun, a board game used as a learning medium, along with Agri Market’s assortment of instant spice products, the Spendly financial management app, and Eco Brew coffee, were among 359 innovations and business ideas presented by students at the Economic Survival Exhibition 2026. The theme ‘From Zero to Value’ reflected students’ ability to turn simple ideas into economically valuable, real-world solutions.

Edu Fun, a board game that serves as a learning medium, including snakes and ladders for learning mathematics, together with Spendly, Eco Brew, and Agri Market products, formed part of the 359 innovations presented by first-year students from 80 classes. The exhibition was staged in two sessions, on 9-10 May 2026 at Living Plaza Jababeka, followed by 12-13 May 2026 at the President University Convention Center in Cikarang, Bekasi. Almost 2,500 first-year students from 80 different classes presented results of their learning and business development.

Economic Survival is a compulsory course for all first-year students at President University. The programme is part of a portfolio-building curriculum implemented by the campus. In this programme, students undertake two semesters to build and manage businesses directly. In the third semester, students are guided to contribute to society through various social activities and community empowerment initiatives. All activities are conducted within a single academic year through a trimester-based learning system.

The cross-disciplinary innovations include the development of games, creative products, souvenirs, a legal information platform, and food and beverage products. “This activity focuses not only on the end product or business result but also on shaping students’ mindset in understanding the process of building a business. It also serves as a shield when facing economic challenges for first-year students. From their very first steps, they are prepared to survive using knowledge relevant to their study programmes,” said Adhi Setyo Santoso, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Research, and Innovation at President University.

Through this programme, students are trained to develop ideas, prepare budgets, formulate marketing strategies, and manage operations. “The learning approach emphasises the principle ‘practice first, reinforce with theory later’, facing real experiences before deepening academic theory in the classroom,” added Adhi.

This platform constitutes a new foundation for building and applying an AI enterprise grounded in real business contexts.
