Eazy Passport service boosts passport applications at Palopo Immigration Office
Palopo (ANTARA) – Palopo Class II Non-TPI Immigration Office, in South Sulawesi, has managed to increase the number of passport applicants, in part thanks to the ‘eazy passport’ service.
Yogie Kashogi, head of Palopo Class II Immigration Office, told reporters in Palopo on Tuesday that in the last two years the office had moved up from Class III to Class II by boosting passport numbers.
‘Average daily applicants are between 60 and 70. We target 75 applications a day. If you compare with five years ago, applicants were only in the 50s,’ he said.
He explained that eazy passport is an innovation in service from the Directorate General of Immigration, implemented by all immigration offices, including Palopo.
‘In this service we use a ’jemput bola’ approach, where immigration officers travel to areas or applicant locations, whether at offices, schools, or in communities.
The eazy passport service is designed for new passport applications and replacements. For lost, damaged passports or data changes, applicants must come to the office because it must go through the Berita Acara Pemeriksaan (BAP) process.
According to him, the service is conducted monthly. Officers visit each district or city within Palopo Immigration’s working area.
The Palopo Immigration working area comprises five districts/cities: Palopo City, Luwu Regency, Luwu Timur Regency, Luwu Utara Regency, and Toraja Utara Regency.
‘Each time the eazy passport service is conducted, the number served ranges from about 50 to 60 applicants,’ Yogie said.
He noted the eazy passport service greatly helps the public access immigration services, given that the Palopo Immigration working area covers a large region; there are areas up to 200 kilometres away.
Thus, with the eazy passport, people can obtain passports without having to go to the Palopo Immigration Office located in Palopo’s city centre.
