Easy and Quick: JKN Helps Amalia Stay Healthy
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA - Amalia Marsiati (44 years old) has experienced the benefits of the National Health Insurance Programme (JKN) for herself and her family. At that time, her child’s body temperature was quite high. By the third day, the fever did not improve, even after being given fever-reducing medication. Amalia immediately took her to the nearest Primary Healthcare Facility (FKTP) as a JKN participant.
“My child was asked to have a blood test. When the results came out, it turned out that the platelet count was very low, so the doctor recommended hospital admission that same day. We stayed in the hospital for eight days. We were discharged after the doctor confirmed that my child’s condition was completely healed,” she said.
She recounted that the services provided by doctors, nurses, and medical staff at the hospital were very satisfactory. There was no discrimination between patients paying out of pocket or general patients, and those utilising JKN. Amalia admitted that she had undergone intensive treatment several times at the same healthcare facility as a JKN participant.
“I also once had surgery for a breast gland. The process was quick and easy. The FKTP provided a referral, then I went straight to the hospital for admission. The next day, I was operated on by the surgeon. Three days later, when I was declared recovered and allowed to go home. JKN has been very helpful for me and my family,” she said.
According to her, JKN services are very good and easy. She also feels assisted by the presence of the Mobile JKN Application. Every year, she routinely conducts health history screenings through one of the app’s features.
“I can monitor my health condition, whether it falls into the at-risk category or not. Even when the results are out, there are several suggestions that can be followed. For example, consulting with a doctor at the registered FKTP if the results indicate risk. The method is also easy, just one click, fill in a few questions, and the results come out immediately,” said Amalia.
Amalia has also used the Mobile JKN Application to register at healthcare facilities via the online queue feature. In addition, the app is very efficient for her because she does not need to go to the office and leave her work just to handle administration, such as transferring her registered FKTP.
“I want to stay healthy, so the contributions I pay can be utilised by those who really need it out there. I also guarantee my sibling’s JKN contributions every month. Once you have JKN, it feels reassuring. In my opinion, BPJS Kesehatan has provided good and easy services. If we follow the process and procedures properly, everything is straightforward,” she said.
