EastjakFest 2026 to be held to celebrate Jakarta's 499th Anniversary
The East Jakarta Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture Office (Sudin KPKP) will host the East Jakarta Agriculture Festival (EastjakFest) on 22 June 2026 to celebrate the 499th anniversary of Jakarta.
“For the 2026 East Jakarta Agriculture Festival, we have prepared various engaging and educational activities that can be enjoyed by all levels of society,” said the Head of Sudin KPKP East Jakarta, Taufaufik Yulianto, in Jakarta on Monday.
The festival serves as the largest collaborative platform for agriculture, livestock, fisheries, food security, and community empowerment in East Jakarta. According to Taufik, EastjakFest 2026 will act as both an educational hub and a medium for public interaction with various food security and environmental programmes developed by the government.
The festival will feature a range of activities, including workshops and talk shows focused on food security, the environment, and urban farming. Additionally, members of the public can access free cat sterilisation services and rabies vaccinations.
Taufik noted that EastjakFest 2026 will also feature ‘Pasar Tumbuh’, a bazaar for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), plant clinic consultation services, cooking competitions, and the distribution of free plant seedlings to visitors.
He emphasised that the event is a significant momentum to increase public awareness regarding the importance of food security, the utilisation of productive land, and sustainable environmental management. “Let us attend, learn, interact, and enjoy the various educational activities we have prepared together,” Taufik said.
He added that in addition to providing various services and educational activities, EastjakFest 2026 will be enlivened by various forms of entertainment that support campaigns for food security, green environmental preservation, and community empowerment. “We are making the best possible preparations to ensure this event is a success and provides real benefits to the community,” Taufik concluded.
