Easter Long Weekend Return Traffic: Japek Toll Implements Contraflow

The contraflow traffic engineering on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road was implemented to ease the density of return traffic from the long Easter holiday on Sunday (5/4). Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated in Karawang, West Java, that the contraflow traffic engineering was applied at the discretion of the police. Contraflow is one of the traffic engineering systems aimed at breaking up congestion by using part of the lane from the opposite direction for vehicles from the denser direction. She stated that the contraflow traffic engineering was applied from KM 55 to KM 47 towards Jakarta on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road starting at 16:36 WIB. This step was taken as an effort by officers to reduce density and maintain smooth traffic flow heading to the Jakarta area. Ria Marlinda said that the implementation of contraflow is a strategic step in maintaining vehicle flow smoothness amid the increase in traffic volume during the long Good Friday holiday period. It was mentioned that JTT, together with the police, continues to monitor traffic conditions in real-time and takes anticipatory steps to ensure vehicle flow remains smooth, safe, and controlled. JTT advises all road users to manage their travel time well, ensure their vehicles are in prime condition, and ensure sufficient e-money balances before entering the toll road. Road users are also expected to always obey traffic signs and follow instructions from officers on the ground.
