Easter Holiday: 516,000 Vehicles Leave Jabodetabek
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Rivan A. Purwantono, stated that the volume of vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area reached 516,654 during the H-1 to H+1 period of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ (Easter) holiday, or from Thursday to Saturday, 2-4 April 2026.
This figure represents an increase of 9.69 per cent compared to normal traffic of 471,025 vehicles.
He said the number is the cumulative traffic flow through four main toll gates: Cikupa GT (towards Merak), Ciawi GT (towards Puncak), Cikampek Main GT (towards Trans Java), and Kalihurip Main GT (towards Bandung).
Subsequently, 145,153 vehicles, or 28.1 per cent, headed west (Merak), and 133,025 vehicles, or 25.7 per cent, headed south (Puncak), Rivan continued.
Vehicle traffic leaving the Jabodetabek area towards various directions was observed to increase, particularly to the east and south.
For the east direction (Trans Java and Bandung), the volume of vehicles exiting through the Cikampek Main Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road was recorded at 111,461 vehicles, an increase of 21.03 per cent compared to normal traffic.
Meanwhile, vehicles heading to Bandung via the Kalihurip Main Toll Gate on the Cipularang Toll Road reached 127,015 units, up 18.34 per cent from normal conditions.
In total, traffic towards Trans Java and Bandung through these two toll gates reached 238,476 vehicles, an increase of 19.58 per cent compared to normal.
On the other hand, for the west direction (Merak), the volume of vehicles leaving Jabodetabek via the Cikupa Toll Gate on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was recorded at 145,153 vehicles, down 4.45 per cent from normal traffic.
Meanwhile, vehicle movement towards the south (Puncak) via the Ciawi Toll Gate on the Jagorawi Toll Road reached 133,025 vehicles, an increase of 11.14 per cent compared to normal conditions.
Rivan explained that on H+1 of the 2026 Easter holiday, or Saturday (4/4/2026), vehicle traffic returning to Jabodetabek at the four main toll gates showed an increase, recorded at 173,000 vehicles, up 19.73 per cent from normal.
“We urge toll road users to anticipate this Easter holiday travel well,” he emphasised.
