East Nusa Tenggara a hit in Venezuela

JAKARTA: The traditional clothes of East Nusa Tenggara have found
quite a few fans in Venezuela, and the province hopes to increase
cooperation with the country in the trade and tourism sectors,
provincial spokesman Umbu Saga Anakaka said.

"The motifs of East Nusa Tenggara's traditional clothes were
greatly admired by Venezuelans during several art and cultural
events in the country," Anakaka told Antara on Monday.

He quoted Indonesian Ambassador to Venezuela Cornelis Mannopo
as saying that Venezuelans went on a shopping spree for East Nusa
Tenggara products, especially its traditional clothes, during an
exhibition at the embassy in Caracas in June.

Mannopo also asked East Nusa Tenggara Governor Piet Aleksander
Tallo in a letter last week if the province wished to participate
in another exhibition next year

"Our embassy in Caracas has asked the East Nusa Tenggara
governor to boost cooperation with Venezuela. They asked us to
send local businesspeople to attend the event," Anakaka said.

The exhibition will feature Indonesian products, investment
opportunities and tourism information, as well as cultural
programs. -- JP
