East Lombok PPA Prepares Complaint Channel to Support Violence Victims
The Regional Technical Service Unit (UPTD) for the Protection of Women and Children (PPA) in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is currently preparing a complaint channel for victims of violence. The UPTD PPA will also provide legal assistance and psychological recovery services for those affected.
The Head of UPTD PPA East Lombok, Yuliani, explained that residents can report cases of violence by visiting the UPTD PPA office directly or through the prepared complaint contact. Yuliani ensured that every report received will be followed up.
“The reporting mechanism is already in place; some people come directly, while others do not. For those who do not come in person, they can use the hotline. We will then follow up,” Yuliani explained on Tuesday (29/09/2026).
Yuliani noted that every incoming report will first undergo verification. She also ensured that the assistance services provided to victims are free of charge.
According to Yuliani, East Lombok’s PPA does not only handle sexual violence cases. Other frequently received cases include domestic violence, child marriage, and cases involving children in conflict with the law.
Yuliani remarked that violence cases in East Lombok are like an iceberg phenomenon. She encouraged victims of violence to have the courage to report.
“These cases are like an iceberg phenomenon. Sometimes the reported numbers are low, even though there is much more beneath the surface. We hope that victims will be brave enough to report,” she concluded.
