East Lampung Robbery Viral on Dashcam, Suspects Surrender
Two robbery suspects whose actions went viral after being recorded by a resident’s dashboard camera (dashcam) in East Lampung Regency have finally been apprehended by police. Both surrendered at the East Lampung Police Headquarters.
The incident occurred on Jalan Raya Sukadana, East Lampung Regency, Lampung Province, on Monday (8/6/2026) at 09.30 WIB. The robbery was recorded by the dashcam of a passing motorist.
At the time, the victim was travelling from Way Jepara towards Belitang, East OKU Regency, South Sumatra. Upon reaching the location, the victim was intercepted by two suspects on a motorcycle. The victim was then forced to stop their vehicle.
East Lampung Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Stefanus Boyoh stated that the two suspects arrived at the East Lampung Police Headquarters on Wednesday (10/6/2026) at around 13.40 WIB.
‘The Tekab 308 Presisi team of the East Lampung Police successfully uncovered the alleged violent theft case that occurred in the Sukadana area,’ Stefanus said on Wednesday (10/6/2026).
‘The two suspects recorded in the video that went viral on social media came to the police station this afternoon to surrender,’ he continued.
Both have been named as suspects. One is a minor in conflict with the law with the initial V, and the other suspect has the initial RA.
