East Kutai DPRD partners with ANTARA to strengthen publications and human resources

The Secretariat of the East Kutai Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), East Kalimantan, has established a partnership with the National News Agency (Perum LKBN) ANTARA to strengthen institutional publications, broaden the dissemination of public information, and enhance human resource capacity in journalism, public relations, and communication. The cooperation was formalised in a Memorandum of Understanding signed by ANTARA’s President Director, Benny Siga Butarbutar, and East Kutai DPRD Secretary, Jainuddin, in Jakarta on Wednesday. Jainuddin stated that the partnership is part of an effort to improve the quality of information services to the public, particularly regarding the council’s legislative, budgeting, and oversight functions. “Through this partnership, we hope that the publication of the East Kutai DPRD’s performance will become more professional, fast, accurate, and balanced. This collaboration also opens up opportunities for our staff to deepen their competencies in journalism, public relations, and digital media management,” Jainuddin said. He explained that the scope of the agreement includes the dissemination of institutional information, training in journalism, photography, and videography, multimedia content production, digital media management, and public communication strategy. ANTARA’s President Director, Benny Siga Butarbutar, welcomed the collaboration, viewing it as a concrete step in supporting public information transparency through credible journalistic products. He noted that ANTARA, as a national news agency with a network of bureaus across various regions, is ready to support the wider dissemination of information regarding the policies, programmes, and achievements of the East Kutai DPRD to the public. The partnership is also expected to strengthen the council’s public communications while supporting the implementation of good governance through the delivery of transparent, accurate, and accountable information.
