East Kalimantan Provincial Government to Distribute One Thousand Free Iftar Packages During Ramadan Festival
Samarinda (ANTARA) - The East Kalimantan Provincial Government is preparing to celebrate the holy month by holding a “Ramadan Festival of Free Iftar Packages” for two full weeks. Thousands of iftar packages will be distributed to the public on the grounds of the East Kalimantan Governor’s Office.
Secretary of the East Kalimantan Province, Sri Wahyuni, in Samarinda, Wednesday, explained that this agenda is a direct instruction from the Governor of East Kalimantan, Rudy Mas’ud.
“This activity will last for 15 days, from February 26 to March 12, 2026. Every day, we will provide around 1,000 to 1,050 iftar packages,” said Sri Wahyuni while leading the Preparation Meeting for Ramadan 1447 Hijri in the Ruhui Rahayu Room.
According to Sri Wahyuni, the packages distributed are guaranteed to meet the nutritional needs for breaking the fast. Each package consists of iftar (dates, cakes, sweet drinks), mineral water, and main dishes.
To maintain order, the committee has arranged the distribution process, which will begin at 4:00 PM local time (after Asar prayer). The public can come on foot or through a special drive-thru lane for two-wheeled vehicles. Visitors must first take a coupon. Each person is only entitled to one package. Access will be automatically closed after the daily coupons run out.
Furthermore, Sri Wahyuni emphasized that this Ramadan Festival carries the concept of hospitality in public service. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government wants to show the humanistic side and professionalism of civil servants in serving the public.
Through this spirit of sharing, the East Kalimantan Provincial Government hopes that the solemnity and joy of the holy month of Ramadan will be even more felt among the community, while also strengthening the ties between leaders and their people.
