East Kalimantan Provincial Government Guarantees Continuation of Non-Civil Servant Teacher Incentives
Samarinda (ANTARA) - The East Kalimantan Provincial Government guarantees the continuation of incentives for non-civil servant educators, which will be fully maintained during the National Education Day commemoration. “We ensure that the Rp500,000 monthly incentive for non-ASN teachers continues to guarantee their welfare,” said East Kalimantan Deputy Governor Seno Aji after the National Education Day ceremony at the East Kalimantan Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports Office in Samarinda on Saturday. The local government promises to review the amount of the incentive to enable gradual increases in the future. “Efforts to improve the welfare of educators will of course be realised to the maximum if the capacity and allocation of regional budgets allow,” said Seno. The commitment to protecting and regulating the status of honorary teachers is guaranteed through the availability of Provincial School Operational Assistance (BOSP) funds. “Extra attention to the education sector is directly proportional to East Kalimantan’s gross participation rate (APK) in education, which has reached 99.5 percent,” he stated. This high education participation rate positions East Kalimantan as the region with the highest education indicator achievement at the national level. “This nationally brilliant achievement was possible due to the hard efforts of the East Kalimantan Education Office in raising public awareness to complete schooling,” said Seno. To support this positive trend, the government is willing to facilitate free higher education programmes for all high school graduates or equivalents who wish to pursue university studies. “Ongoing synergy with all public and private vocational and general high school institutions continues to be strengthened to realise the birth of East Kalimantan’s golden generation,” he added.
