East Kalimantan Governor's Rp 8.49 Billion Official Vehicle Already Handed Over in Jakarta
East Kalimantan Governor Rudy Mas’ud has decided to return a new official vehicle worth Rp 8.499 billion that attracted criticism. The vehicle had already been formally handed over.
Muhammad Faisal, Head of the East Kalimantan Communication and Information Service, stated that his office completed the handover of the white Range Rover 3.0 LWB Autobiography PHEV P460e on 20 November 2025. However, the vehicle remains located in Jakarta.
“Although the handover has been completed, the vehicle unit remains in Jakarta. Following the Governor’s instructions, the procurement authority and procurement committee have coordinated with the supplier. Alhamdulillah, the supplier is very understanding and willing to accept the return. Formal documentation was also sent last Friday,” he said in a press statement, reported by detikKalimantan on Monday (2 March 2026).
The decision to return the vehicle is described as a follow-up to community aspirations that have recently emerged. He also confirmed that the vehicle has never been used for East Kalimantan provincial government operations.
“The Governor extends gratitude for the criticism and suggestions that have been provided and has instructed the procurement authority and procurement committee to promptly process the return of the new vehicle,” he stated.
As previously reported, the procurement of the East Kalimantan Governor’s official vehicle under the 2025 Revised Regional Budget attracted scrutiny. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government, through the General Bureau of the Regional Secretary Office, procured one four-wheeled vehicle for operational use by the leadership valued at Rp 8.499 billion through the 2025 Revised Regional Budget.
