East Kalimantan Governor Must Return Rp 8.49 Billion Official Vehicle Allocation Within 14 Days
The East Kalimantan provincial government (Kaltim) has decided to return the official vehicle of Governor Rudy Mas’ud, valued at Rp 8.49 billion. The funds used for the vehicle purchase must be returned to the regional treasury within 14 days.
Muhammad Faisal, Head of the East Kalimantan Communication and Informatics Office, stated that his office had written to the vehicle supplier. The process of returning the vehicle will be carried out shortly in accordance with applicable procedures.
“Fourteen days after receiving the vehicle back, the supplier is obliged to return the funds received in accordance with the vehicle’s price to the regional treasury,” Faisal said in a press statement, as reported by detikKalimantan on Monday, 2 March 2026.
The procurement of the official vehicle for the East Kalimantan Governor in the amended 2025 regional budget had attracted attention. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government, through the General Bureau of the Regional Secretariat, had procured one four-wheeled vehicle for operational needs of the provincial leadership valued at Rp 8,499,936,000 using funds from the amended 2025 regional budget.
As previously reported, the East Kalimantan provincial government cancelled the procurement of the governor’s official vehicle worth Rp 8.5 billion. This was communicated through a voice message from Governor Rudy Mas’ud, which was uploaded to his personal Instagram account @h.rudymasud and the official Instagram account of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government @pemprov_kaltim.
“Peace be upon you and God’s mercy and blessings. We wish to inform you that the East Kalimantan Provincial Government has decided to cancel the official vehicle for the Governor that was previously planned,” said Rudy, as reported by detikKalimantan on Monday, 2 March 2026.
