Cooperative Minister Ferry Juliantono stated that the Merah Putih Village/Subdistrict Cooperatives (KDKMP) in East Java have recorded the highest performance and transaction value nationally. “This achievement proves that KDKMP is a driver of the economic wheel that benefits the community,” he said in a statement received in Surabaya on Tuesday. Based on data from the East Java Provincial Government, there are 8,494 KDKMP that have obtained legal entity status, with ten KDKMP recording the highest transaction value in East Java, reaching Rp14.05 billion. Four KDKMP in Tuban are among the top ten for the largest transactions in East Java, and the accumulated transaction value of these Tuban KDKMP has even surpassed the total transactions of KDMP in several provinces, such as the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Central Java, West Java, DKI Jakarta, and Banten. The top-performing units include KDMP Rengel in Tuban Regency, KDMP Bakalanwringinpitu in Sidoarjo Regency, KDMP Dapet Balongpanggang in Gresik Regency, KDMP Gesikharjo in Tuban Regency, KDMP Bedali in Kediri Regency, KDMP Tangunan in Mojokerto Regency, and KDMP Tlogoagung in Bojonegoro Regency. According to the Minister, this achievement proves that KDKMP can be an effective driver of the economic wheel for the community. As a form of appreciation to East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa for the speed of establishing the KDKMP deeds and the performance achievements in East Java, the Ministry of Cooperatives will present a special award at the Cooperative Award event scheduled for the end of July 2026. East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa remarked that the significant attention to cooperatives is inseparable from the role of cooperatives and micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM), which contribute 60 percent to East Java’s economic growth, recorded at 5.9 percent in the first quarter of 2026. “The role of cooperatives and UMKM in East Java is extraordinary. Let us maintain and improve their governance so that cooperatives become more modern and professional,” said Khofifah.
