East Java's KDKMP Records Highest National Performance and Transaction Value: Minister

Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA) - Cooperatives Minister Ferry Juliantono stated that the Village/Neighbourhood Red-and-White Cooperatives (KDKMP) in East Java have recorded the highest performance and transaction value nationally.

“This achievement proves that the KDKMP have become drivers of the economy that benefit the community,” he said in a statement received in Surabaya on Tuesday.

According to data from the East Java Provincial Government, there are 8,494 KDKMP with legal entity status, with ten KDKMP recording the highest transaction values in East Java, reaching Rp14.05 billion.

Of these, four KDKMP in Tuban are among the top ten largest KDKMP transactions in East Java, and the cumulative transaction value of Tuban’s KDKMP has even surpassed the total KDKMP transactions of several provinces, such as the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Central Java, West Java, Jakarta, and Banten.

These include KDKMP Rengel in Tuban Regency, KDKMP Bakalanwringinpitu in Sidoarjo Regency, KDKMP Dapet Balongpanggang in Gresik Regency, KDKMP Gesikharjo in Tuban Regency, and KDKMP Bedali in Kediri Regency.

Also listed are KDKMP Tangunan in Mojokerto Regency and KDKMP Tlogoagung in Bojonegoro Regency.

According to the Cooperatives Minister, this achievement proves that the KDKMP are capable of serving as engines of the economy that benefit the community.

As a form of appreciation to East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa for the speed of KDKMP legal entity formation and the performance of East Java’s KDKMP, the Ministry of Cooperatives will present a special award at the Cooperatives Award ceremony to be held at the end of July 2026.

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa said the great attention given to cooperatives reflects the role of cooperatives and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which contribute 60 per cent to East Java’s economic growth, which stood at 5.9 per cent in the first quarter of 2026.

“The role of cooperatives and MSMEs in East Java is extraordinary. Let us preserve and improve their governance together so that cooperatives become increasingly modern and professional,” said Khofifah.
