East Java TP2DD wins Best Province award for Java-Bali region 2026
Surabaya (ANTARA) - The Regional Digitalisation Acceleration and Expansion Team (TP2DD) of the East Java Provincial Government has received the 2026 Best Province award for the Java-Bali region from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
“With the receipt of this award, this achievement must serve as an incentive to continue expanding the benefits of digital transformation for the community. Digitalisation must not merely be a change in working methods, but must truly provide convenience and added value for the people,” stated the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, in Surabaya on Friday.
The award was received by the Acting Governor of East Java, Emil Elestianto Dardak, representing Khofifah, during the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) on Inflation Control and the Acceleration and Expansion of Regional Digitalisation 2026 at the Jakarta International Convention Centre (JICC), Jakarta, on Thursday (24/9).
The event was held in conjunction with the Indonesia Digital Economic and Financial Festival (FEKDI) and the Indonesia Fintech Summit and Expo (IFSE) 2026, which took place from 24–26 September 2026.
Khofifah stated that digital transformation is not sufficient if it only changes service mechanisms from manual to electronic; it must build an ecosystem that benefits the public, business actors, and the government.
“Digitalisation must not stop at how the government conducts transactions electronically. What is more important is how this transformation provides broader benefits, for the community, MSMEs, the business world, and the government itself,” she said.
According to her, these benefits can be realised through easier and faster public services, increasingly efficient transactions, better record-keeping, and expanded access for the public and business actors to economic and financial services.
The East Java Provincial Government, Khofifah continued, continues to strengthen collaboration with regency/city governments, Bank Indonesia, the banking sector, the business world, and other stakeholders to expand the digitalisation ecosystem.
“The success of regional digitalisation is not the work of a single institution. The government, Bank Indonesia, the banking sector, the business world, regency/city governments, and the community all have their respective roles. Therefore, we will continue to strengthen this synergy so that the benefits of digitalisation become increasingly widespread,” she said.
Khoflar added that technological developments must be accompanied by the ability of local governments to adapt, ensuring that digitalisation not only increases governmental efficiency but also expands public access, strengthens MSMEs, and supports regional economic growth.
