East Java Scouts develop superior seeds to bolster food security

Surabaya (ANTARA) - The East Java Scout Regional Headquarters (Kwardlar Kwarda) of the Scout Movement is developing superior seeds as part of a food security programme being implemented simultaneously by Scout members across various regions in the province.

“Indeed, we are no longer just producing food for production and consumption, but we have also created superior seeds,” said the Chairman of Kwarda Pramuka Jatim, HM Arum Sabil, during the 65th Scout Day Commemoration Ceremony at the State University of Surabaya (Unesa) on Wednesday night.

Arum stated that one of the superior seeds being developed by the East Java Scouts is maize seed under the KIP label, which stands for ‘Kolaborasi Inovasi Polri’ (Police Innovation Collaboration).

According to Arum, this food security programme is already underway and has become one of the core activities undertaken by Scout members in East Java.
