In the current digital era, it presents a challenge to maintain and strengthen the resilience of gotong royong, which has become a hallmark of the Indonesian nation, particularly in East Java.

Bojonegoro, East Java (ANTARA) - The East Java Provincial Government has reminded all residents to preserve the gotong royong culture through the commemoration of the XXIII National Gotong Royong Service Month (BBGRM) in Pilanggede Village, Balen Subdistrict, Bojonegoro Regency.

East Java Governor’s Special Staff for Community and Human Resources Affairs, Budi Raharjo, said on Thursday that this gotong royong service month in May 2026 is being held in 13 regencies and two cities in East Java, with the peak event in Bojonegoro Regency.

“This activity is intended to strengthen the spirit, encourage community self-reliance and collaboration between the government and related parties to maintain and preserve gotong royong in the existing conditions,” said Budi Raharjo in Bojonegoro, East Java.

“The three aspects are still being implemented at the village level, including this actualisation demonstrating the gotong royong service month, and we are confident that it can be carried out sustainably in Bojonegoro,” he stated.

On the same occasion, Bojonegoro Regent Setyo Wahono conveyed that this activity serves as an effort to preserve noble habits among fellow citizens, promoting openness and mutual support through gotong royong to strengthen the active role of unity and cohesion in development.

To cultivate public participation in government development, increase community concern grounded in togetherness and gotong royong.

“The community must embrace the spirit of togetherness, gotong royong, and concern. As the host of BBGRM, Bojonegoro must be able to provide the best benefits for the people of Bojonegoro and transform the community by 2045,” he said.
