East Java Provincial Government Prepares 17 Bus Routes and Two Ship Routes for Free Homecoming Programme

Surabaya (ANTARA) - The East Java Provincial Government is preparing 17 bus routes and two maritime shipping routes under the Free Homecoming Programme for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri/Lebaran 2026, providing transport for 7,000 residents to 20 districts and cities.

“The mudik tradition is an important moment to strengthen family ties. Through this Free Group Homecoming Programme, we want to ensure that people can travel more safely, comfortably and without cost,” said East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa in Surabaya on Saturday.

The programme is implemented by the East Java Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub) in cooperation with the Land Transport Organisation (Organda) and maritime transport service providers.

Of the total 7,000 quota, 4,000 passengers will depart via land routes using a bus fleet, whilst 3,000 passengers will travel by sea with an estimated 250 people per departure across 12 sailings.

Additionally, free transport for 200 motorcycles has been arranged.

The 17 bus routes include Surabaya–Madiun, Magetan, Ponorogo, Nganjuk (via arterial), Tulungagung, Blitar (via Pare), Trenggalek, Bondowoso, Pacitan, Jember, Blitar (via Malang), Banyuwangi (via Jember), Banyuwangi (via Situbondo), Ngawi, Tuban, Sumenep and Bojonegoro. The homecoming bus departures are scheduled for 19 March 2026.

Online registration opens from 2–4 March 2026 whilst quota is available, whilst direct registration is available from 8 March 2026 until quota is full.

For maritime routes, the Provincial Government has prepared two routes: Jangkar Port, Situbondo to Pulau Raas Port, Sumenep and Jangkar Port to Pulau Sapudi Port.

The Jangkar–Raas route departures are scheduled for 8, 12, 15 and 17 March 2026, whilst the Jangkar–Sapudi route is scheduled for 11 and 16 March 2026.

The return maritime schedule for the Raas–Jangkar route is scheduled for 29 March and 2, 4 and 6 April 2026, whilst the Sapudi–Jangkar route is scheduled for 27 and 31 March 2026.

Additionally, the East Java Provincial Transportation Agency provides free motorcycle delivery to six destination areas: Banyuwangi, Jember, Tulungagung, Trenggalek, Madiun and Ponorogo.

Motorcycle delivery departures are scheduled for 18 March 2026 with direct registration through operators from 8 March 2026 until quota is full.

The Governor has called on people to take advantage of the programme by registering according to schedule through mudikgratis.dishub.jatimprov.go.id for buses and sipentol.dishub.jatimprov.go.id for maritime vessels, as quota is limited.
