East Java Police Chief ensures readiness of Tanjung Perak Port
Surabaya — The Head of the East Java Regional Police (Kapolda), Inspector General Nanang Avianto, ensured the operational readiness of Gapura Surya Nusantara (GSN) Terminal at Tanjung Perak Port in welcoming Eid al-Fitr travellers.
Nanang directly visited GSN Terminal to monitor the readiness of personnel and optimisation of services to ship passengers, including infrastructure, security, and passenger amenities.
“The presence of police personnel at the Integrated Post of Tanjung Perak Port ensures public security so that all security systems and safety protocols operate optimally,” he said in Surabaya on Tuesday.
As one of East Java’s principal mobility gateways, Tanjung Perak Port is a strategic point requiring maximum security and service from all involved parties.
Nanang also issued directives to deployed personnel to provide the best service to the public whilst maintaining conducive security and order.
Executive Director 3 Regional 3 of PT Pelindo (Persero) Daru Wicaksono stated that Pelindo had implemented various technical preparations and facilities at the port under its management.
“Our primary focus is to ensure terminal capacity is sufficient and passenger flow runs orderly through digitisation of ticketing systems and strict on-site supervision,” Daru said.
Similarly, Regional Division Head of Operations at Regional 3 PT Pelindo (Persero) Johanes Wahyu Hertanto emphasised the importance of smooth vessel operations at the berth.
He explained that they had scheduled vessel berthing with precision to avoid lengthy queues in the port basin.
Equipment and supporting facilities both on water and land have reached 100 per cent readiness.
Meanwhile, regarding the operational readiness of the non-containerised terminal in Tanjung Perak Port, Branch Manager Kalimas PT Pelindo Multi Terminal Ana Adiliya ensured the readiness of supporting areas around the port.
“We continue to coordinate to ensure the operational zone remains conducive so that logistical mobilisation and activities in the port area do not disrupt passenger access comfort towards GSN Terminal,” Ana stated.
