East Java-Jakarta Trade Mission Records Transactions Worth Over 5.7 Trillion Rupiah
The Trade and Investment Mission of the East Java Provincial Government and DKI Jakarta Provincial Government recorded final transaction commitments totalling 5.744 trillion rupiah, the highest throughout all regional trade missions conducted between 2019 and 2026.
“By the time it closed at 17:00 WIB, transaction commitments reached 5.7 trillion rupiah. Of our 50 trade missions, this is the highest among all transactions we have ever achieved,” said East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa in a statement received in Surabaya on Monday evening.
Total transaction commitments for the East Java-Jakarta Trade and Investment Mission held in Jakarta on Monday amounted to 5.744 trillion rupiah, surpassing the 2021 East Java-Jakarta Trade Mission achievement of 750.44 billion rupiah. Of this total, East Java’s sales to DKI Jakarta reached 5.615 trillion rupiah, whilst East Java’s purchases from DKI Jakarta totalled 129.6 billion rupiah, comprised of beef commodities.
According to Khofifah, the synergy between East Java and DKI Jakarta, as the provinces with the first and second highest economic growth in Indonesia, is believed capable of strengthening economic growth and public welfare.
“This means that the synergy between the provinces with the first and second highest economic growth in Indonesia, namely East Java and DKI Jakarta, is expected to strengthen economic growth and public welfare,” she stated.
She explained that this trade mission, which serves as a regular agenda, aims to facilitate meetings between sellers and buyers through Government-to-Business (G to B) and Business-to-Business (B to B) schemes, making commodity and market information flows more accurate and increasing the potential for business agreements.
Based on East Java’s inter-regional trade data with all provinces in 2024, the total trade value between East Java and DKI Jakarta reached 89.21 trillion rupiah, consisting of goods imported (unloaded) from Jakarta worth 75.95 trillion rupiah and goods exported (loaded) to Jakarta worth 14.16 trillion rupiah.
In 2025, East Java’s economic growth is recorded at 5.33 per cent cumulatively and 5.85 per cent year-on-year, with a Regional Gross Domestic Product (RGDP) at current prices totalling 3.403 trillion rupiah and contributing 14.40 per cent to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
During the 2019-2026 period, East Java has conducted 49 domestic trade missions with total transaction commitments of 30.50 trillion rupiah from 2,153 transactions involving 2,410 business actors.
Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretary Uus Kuswanto expressed appreciation for the trade mission. “On behalf of the Governor, he conveys his strong appreciation for this activity, especially as it is being held during Ramadhan, which will benefit not only Jakarta residents but also East Java,” he said.
