East Java Governor Invites Residents for 'Riyayan' Tradition at Grahadi and Jemursari
Surabaya - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has invited residents to join the Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah riyayan tradition at the State Building Grahadi and her Jemursari residence to strengthen silaturahim and togetherness between the government and the community. “We invite the entire community to attend and make the most of this momentum as an opportunity for silaturahim. May this event further strengthen togetherness and the spirit of brotherhood in East Java,” said Head of the Leadership Administration Bureau of the East Java Provincial Regional Secretariat, Pulung Chausar, in Surabaya on Friday. “Furthermore, on 22 to 23 March 2026, the public is welcome to visit the Governor’s private residence in Jemursari for silaturahim in two sessions: 10:00–13:00 WIB and 19:00–21:00 WIB,” Pulung stated. He emphasised that the riyayan tradition is a cultural element continuously upheld by the East Java Provincial Government to reinforce ukhuwah and togetherness within society. “The Idul Fitri momentum is the perfect time to strengthen ukhuwah, build togetherness, and open wide spaces for silaturahim between the government and the community,” he said. According to him, the riyayan implementation has been optimally prepared to proceed in an orderly, safe, and comfortable manner for all attending guests. “We have arranged the flow of guest arrivals and security, so the community can attend comfortably and experience a warm, familial silaturahim atmosphere,” he added. In addition to serving as a silaturahim forum, the event is expected to positively impact the community’s economy, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) and street vendors (PKL). “Residents who come need not worry as dishes will be provided that can be enjoyed from street vendors and UMKM, all free for the public,” he continued. The event also involves business actors around Grahadi and Jemursari, in line with the Minister of Home Affairs’ Circular Number 400.6/3245/SJ on Recommendations for Halalbihalal and Open House for Idul Fitri 1447 H, as well as the State Secretary’s Circular Number B-40/MS/HL.00/03/2026. “This also serves as Governor Khofifah’s effort to ‘nglarisi’ the wares of UMKM actors and street vendors around Grahadi and Jemursari,” he said.
